Brook Cottage

Lovely Grade II Listed cotswold cottage in the centre of Chipping Campden. Peacefully situated behind the High Street so you wouldn't know it was there. Pretty, enclosed garden.

Brook Cottage is a lovely Grade II Listed Cotswold stone cottage nestling behind the High Street in the centre of Chipping Campden. Fresh croissants from the French bakery are a short stroll away but to close the cottage's entrance gate is to retreat from the outside world. The property retains many period features; exposed old beams and stone mullions and lintels. Full gas central heating makes it cosy even in winter, whilst the seclusion and peace of the pretty, enclosed garden with mature shrubs and laid to paving and gravel are a real bonus. Children over 4 and non-crawling babies are welcome but there is no stairgate. Free and unrestricted on-street parking.

The Open Plan Sitting Room and Dining Room is a welcoming, light and sunny south facing room with french doors to the garden. Gas, coal effect fire. It is comfortably furnished with two, two seater sofas. For your entertainment a flat screen television with freeview, Blu-ray disc player and Pioneer digital ipod/iphone player are provided.

The Dining Room has exposed Cotswold stone walls, a stone fireplace (non working) and a window seat with pretty cushions. There is a dining table and four chairs.

The light and sunny fitted kitchen has a door out to the garden. It is equipped with a large Bosch fridge/freezer, double fitted electric oven with gas hob and extractor fan over, Bosch washing machine and Bosch dishwasher, microwave and cafetiere. An iron and ironing board are also provided.

Stairs lead upstairs to the landing. Both bedrooms are of a very similar size but for ease of description have been called "One" and "Two".

Bedroom One is an attractive room with an exposed Cotswold stone wall and beams. There is a King size (5ft wide) bed, bedside tables and lamps and a mahogany chest of drawers. Two steps up lead to fitted cupboards. The clock radio has an ipod dock.
Bedrooom Two has a Super King bed (6ft wide) that will split into 3 ft beds (as shown). The wardrobe has hanging space and room for folded clothes above. There is a wicker, three drawer chest between the beds.

The Family Bathroom contains a white bathroom suite with bath, handbasin and WC.

There is a shower (with shower curtain) over the bath.

Downstairs there is a useful Cloakroom with WC and hand basin.

The sunny, south facing enclosed garden includes a paved area and gravel and mature shrubs. There is a good size attractive garden table and four chairs and a barbecue though you will need to provide your own charcoal. A right of way exists down the side of the garden for the neighbours to reach their garden which is situated beyond the garden of Brook Cottage. We understand that this is seldom used.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful town
The cottage sits off the high street down a passage, it is very quiet and peaceful. The interior is clean and very cosy, the beds are very comfortable ... The oven needs replacing as it does not heat up to temperature and the room ends up full of smoke. It is a very good base for visiting the surrounding areas.

Management comment
Thank you very much for your feedback and more importantly bringing to our attention the need to look at the oven.
Oozes charm
We loved this place! It personified everything about the Cotswolds. It is a single family, detached cottage off the main street of Chipping Campden. It had a very rustic feel inside in terms of decor but still quite modern in terms of kitchen, shower, etc. We prepared a meal in the kitchen and had no issues with utensils, pans, etc. The wifi worked great (teenagers=happy). The location was in the heart of Chipping Campden with easy access to food, shopping, etc. I was worried about not having a reserved parking space for our rental car but I never had a problem finding a spot right out front. We spent a lot of downtime in this cottage due to how relaxing it was. The key is electronically accessed so no need to coordinate with a property manager upon arrival. We found milk and chocolate cake in the fridge welcoming us. Note it has a washing machine but no dryer (there is a clothesline outside to hang items). Also, the garden is quite overgrown and not exactly enjoyable to spend time in. The BBQ existed and even had some charcoal but no cleaning utensils for the grill itself. We love this place and would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

we loved Brook Cottage!
Our stay was perfect and it was a wonderful place to be. It had everything we needed and the location was ideal because though the entrance is on the High Street, the cottage is situated about 40 ft back so people weren't looking in the windows as they walked by. Would highly recommend this cottage.

This was our second visit to Brook Cottage so I think that says it all!
Very comfy cottage in good location. We've stayed here in winter and in spring time and found it met our needs and proved to be a very enjoyable break on both occasions.

Idyllic stay in Cotswolds.
Our stay in the cottage was marvellous. It's location allowed easy access to butcher, baker and even a candlestick maker!! We found the people of Chipping Campden friendly, interesting and helpful. There is an abundance of wonderful sights and sites in the area, and coming back each evening to Brook cottage truly felt like coming home. If the world were not so large, we would return as soon as possible......Our only caveat was insufficient light for reading, both in the lounge and the bedroom.

Book Cottage, Chipping Campden.
Small, cozy two story house accessed via a short corridor off Chipping Campden High Street. Due to its location away from the High Street, it's very private and quiet. Nice garden area. Short walk to pubs, restaurants and shops. There's a clothes washing machine but no dryer, so bring hangers to dry clothes if you plan on doing laundry. The only negative is the parking situation: this house has no driveway or dedicated parking space, so you'll be competing with the locals and hoards of tourists for an open spot.

Country Getaway.
The cottage is a comfortable home away from home, just what we needed after a long holiday being in hotels. It is located right smack in the middle of the village, and still an easy drive to other villages.

Loved it!
I Don't think there's much more to say other than we didn't want to leave! The cottage was charming , cozy, and well appointed ,and if we ever have the chance , we'd head back in a heart beat.

Living in the Cotswolds.....if only for just a week!
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable stay in the charming Brook Cottage. There was a slight misunderstanding as to our arrival date and the cottage was not ready for us when we arrived at the given time. However, with a few phone calls, all was taken care of. Shortly after notifying the management, a very lovely lady appeared and had the cottage ready for us in no time. Also, a pleasant gentleman came to the cottage with flowers and delicious little cakes and a nice bottle of wine. This cottage is located in a marvelous, private spot just behind High Street. It is in easy proximity to the small grocery store, French bakery, and other shops of interest to travels. One suggestion I might have would be to leave a packet in the house of information concerning how to adjust the heat and instructions for various appliances in the house. The lower oven in the kitchen does not seem to work and a reading lamp in the living room would have been appreciated. A small amount of washing machine detergent would be helpful and perhaps a third roll of toilet tissue. All in all, I found this to be a lovely cottage. I felt as though I was living in the Cotswolds in a beautiful Laura Ashley home. Loved the floral draperies, the French doors and the pretty garden area off the living room and kitchen. This is indeed a charming location in a beautiful, authentic Cotswold village. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again on a future visit.

Cosy and comfortable
This is a lovely cottage, surprisingly large inside and tucked away behind the lovely High St. It has a charming garden too. Comfortable beds and sofas, a large TV and no fires to light. Bliss! (Oh, and a delicious cake.)

Cosy Campden cottage
Lovely cosy cottage on the main street of Chipping Campden. The cottage is set back from the road, accessible through a gate a short pathway. Comfortable and clean. Many lovely pubs and restaurants nearby, including The Volunteer which shows Premier League Football for those interested. We enjoyed our stay.

Brilliant cottage
This is the third property that we have stayed in with Campden cottages and definitely the best. Great position, secluded, quiet and very private. Very well equipped and so comfortable. I would say that the pictures of this property did not do it any justice. Its much nicer when you are there.

Lovely cottage in an excellent location
Ladbrook cottage is a lovely cottage in excellent location. It is very well presented and equipped. We had a lovely holiday there and hope to return soon.

Cozy, Comfortable and Convenient
Our 10 nights in (Lad)brooke Cottage was very, very enjoyable. the location was perfect for driving to many different villages etc. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was adequately stocked (altho I would have loved a full apron!). The beams and stone added charm but the ceilings were just high enough so my husband didn't bump his head! The garden was charming and large - what a treat!
