Forget Me Not

A popular, one bedroom cottage located in the centre of Blockley. Accessed from a footpath, its secluded location makes the cottage a most peaceful retreat. Blockley village is an utter delight, complete with such quaint English staples as the crown bowls green, medieval church and village post office with cafe. It's a walker's paradise, with the village just a short walk to the last leg of the Cotswolds Way and a huge variety of local trails to choose from.

Forget Me Not Cottage provides all the charm and peace expected of a country home. It is approached through a small cottage garden with flower borders and gravel paths. The mellow honey coloured Cotswold stone is exposed in the sitting room and still retains the original beams and original flagstone floor.
Babies are welcome, a cot and high chair can be provided. Guests are able to park nearby.

Upon entry, guests are greeted with the lounge. The original flagstone flooring, exposed beams and Cotswold stonewalls are all features. Newly redecorated, guests can relax in front of the wood burning stove in the comfort of the two-seater sofa or armchair. Included is the flat screen TV with Free view, DVD player and iPod dock. The drop leaf oak dining table and chairs can be found to one side of the room. There is full gas central heating included.

The fitted kitchen is modern yet in keeping with the traditional nature of the cottage. It is fully equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. There is also a fridge with icebox, microwave and gas cooker, in addition to an Iron and ironing board. Guests may enjoy a welcome tray that provides home made cake, condiments (to include tea, coffee, sugar and milk) and freshly cut flowers.

With windows on either side of the room, the bedroom is very light and sunny. The room is furnished with a king size (5ft bed) cream bedstead with bedside tables and lamps. Additionally, there is a chest of drawers, a wardrobe and a free standing long mirror. An additional TV with DVD player is provided. A Hairdryer may also be found here. Scenic views of the countryside can be seen here.

The Shower Room features a walk in shower, a basin enclosed in a vanity unit and WC. Toiletries and towels are included.

Located at the front of the property, guests are greeted with the garden. It has large flowerbeds with gravel paths. Plenty of pots of flowers add additional colour and interest. The Bistro style table and chairs are ideal for enjoying the seclusion and peace. A brick outhouse can be used to store bikes and includes a barbecue. There is access to the bridle path.

In need of attention
Difficulty finding key instructions did not indicate where to find the key Cooker control only 3/out of 6 knobs available. had to pull one off to use for hob!! Tried cooking supper both smoke alarm went off had to balance on chair at top of stairs to stop!!!suggest extractor hood needs attention Stopped and bought lovely food at farmers market on way.f Fridge door would not close because freezer section frosted up. Only 2 out of 4 spotlights in kitchen worked No central heating All this created a stressful break, and we did not enjoy cooking the lovely meals we had catered for and looked forward to We were generally very disappointed with this property, considering the price we paid

Management comment
Thank you for your feedback. All access and directions are emailed on receipt of balance payment and confirmed by guest these had be received; It was rather unfortunate that these were not bought with you as per your phonetical to me. Also as explained the cooker knobs were missing and replacement had not arrived, again as discussed at the time this was not an issue as what was needed was in place. smoke alarms are put in to provide safety to our guest as are a legal requirement in the event of them going off is to inform. Im assuming this was whilst supper was being cooked. The central heating again as discussed is operated via an app of which was turned up, also a full load of logs and kindling were also delivered prior to arrival which as per booking agreement are inclusive in the price and can be used freely. The freezer compartment of the fridge I do apologise for, as it is only small I did offer to defrost by placing a bowl of hot water in this which would then defrost this section within minutes. All lights are checked prior to arrival and spares are in the cupboard. Had I know there were light that had gone, I would have replaced them. I am sorry you found this break stressful as Forget Me Not is a lovely cosy cottage providing an ideal stress free environment.
An excellent short break
The cottage was very clean and had everything you needed. The little extra touches like toiletries and cakes were very nice. We loved the wood burner which was perfect for cosy evenings in. The village was lovely with plenty of local walks.

Holiday
comfortable cottage for two sympathetically restored, everything in place for a restful holiday. Cakes and flowers upon arrival very welcoming. Ideal base for visiting the surrounding villages and countryside. Booking was easy with attentive service. Cottage itself requires more hanging space for clothes

A little bolt hole to relax
This is a beautiful little cottage, ideal for a couple's break. So well appointed and equipped, we wanted for nothing. Beverley was so helpful too and this just made our stay here all the more relaxing and pleasurable. Some lovely walks and the views are stunning. Visit the village shop and tea room for even more cotswolds hospitality.

Lovely Little Cottage
What a lovely cottage and perfect for our romantic weekend away. Blockley is a tiny village and the cottage location was perfect, near the local shop and walks for the dogs. So quiet every second of everyday. Provided the rest we needed. Would definitely book again and recommend for anyone looking to "get away from it all".
