Chipping Campden

Postcode: GL55 6AZ
Sleeps: 3

Hoo Cottage is the quintessential Cotswold stone, thatched cottage.

Its first registered owners lived here from 1639 when King Charles I was on the throne and the English Civil War still three years hence. Almost 400 years later it is Grade II listed and tucked away in a quiet residential area of Chipping Campden.

The cottage will transport you back in time but without 17th century discomforts! Its low ceilings, exposed beams, flagstone floors, log fire and uneven walls are redolent of times past but the gas central heating makes it a cosy holiday home.

A cot and high chair can be provided and private parking is available on the drive.

The cottage garden with its flower and shrub borders provide a secluded haven from the outside world.

It is an ideal retreat with a good book or for a sundowner on a pleasant summer evening. The Sitting Room is comfortably furnished with a sofa and two armchairs - large enough to curl up in for a snooze or to browse through a magazine or newspaper or just to sit and gaze at the flames from the log fire.

A flat screen TV with Sky, DVD player and Ipod dock are also provided. The Dining Area is at one end of the sitting room and has a polished wood dining table and four chairs. Small, newly renovated Kitchen has wooden cupboards, granite work surfaces and a quarry tiled floor. It is well equipped with washer/dryer, dishwasher, ceramic hob with electric oven, fridge, microwave and cafetiere. There is a large fridge freezer in shed in garden.

Stairs lead from the hallway to the landing upstairs. Lining the walls of the stairs is a montage of family photos taken over many years by the owners of the cottage. With a king size bed (5ft wide) and good quality linen and towels this is a very comfortable room. It is furnished with bedside tables and lamps and a chest of drawers. Hanging space is in the cupboard on the landing. A radio is provided. Bedroom Two is a small single bedroom with 3ft bed. There is a fitted cupboard with hanging and shelf space. The newly renovated bathroom contains a bath with shower over, basin and WC.
