Low season is December and January (exc
Christmas and New Year). High season is July and August. Prices
gradually increase and decrease between these periods. Prices
for Christmas and New Year on request. Short breaks out of
season or for late availability. Prices quoted include for
gas, electric, linen and towels, fresh flowers and welcome tea tray with home made cake.
This cottage is not suitable for
the elderly or infirm. The stairs are very steep.
 
Blockley is a delightful village situated
amongst the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds, between
Chipping Campden and Moreton in Marsh in a designated Area
of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is only 3 miles from Moreton
in Marsh which is on the main railway line from London Paddington.
Buses regularly stop in the village on their way from Moreton
to Chipping Campden, Broadway, Stratford upon Avon and beyond.
The new Blockley Shop and Cafe is now open,
where hot food is also served, home-made cakes, croisants for an early breakfast and a shop which stocks just about everything including newspapers and magazines. The shop and cafe opens

The Great Western Arms pub in the village serves meals or food can be purchased to take away.
The Crown Hotel serves food in the bar and restaurant.
During the summer months these are open all day.
PROPERTY DETAILS:
Silk Cottage was built in the 19th century
and is Grade II Listed. Set in the grounds of the Old Silk
Mill, it is neatly tucked away at the end of the row of cottages
dating back to the 1800’s. The cottage offers a tranquil
environment with the sound of water in the background coming
from the original mill stream.
Silk cottage has been renovated to the highest
standard and has kept many of the original features. The use
of colour and natural light has created a balance to provide
a cottage ideal for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. There
is full gas central heating.
Entrance to the property is through a small
cottage garden with patio area consisting of a bistro table
and chairs. The front door leads into the kitchen.
KITCHEN
Attractive kitchen with exposed beams and fitted
medium oak cupboards. It is well equipped with cafetiere,
dishwasher, small fridge with icebox, microwave, electric cooker, washing machine.
Table and chairs are placed in front of the window over looking
the garden.
A passageway leads to the:
BATHROOM
White fitted bathroom with bath and hand held shower fitment,
wc and pedestal basin. Beautifully decorated in natural colour,
with a window for natural light.
Steep stairs lead to first floor.
SITTING ROOM
Beautiful original oak floor boards with exposed
beams, stone fire place with small wood-burning stove. Relax
in front of a warming fire in the comfort of the two-seater
sofa or from one of the two window seats look out onto the
cottage garden and then the further communal gardens beyond.
Colour television. There is a cupboard tucked away in the
corner for extra storage.
Very steep stairs lead from the first to second floor
BEDROOM
Many exposed beams and once again original oak floors. Step
out of the 4’6” brass bed onto rugs either side
of the bed. There are matching walnut effect bedside tables
with co-ordinating bedside lamps.
For relaxation there is a radio/CD player
beside the bed or you can watch the portable television using
the remote control. Wardrobe with drawers, small chest of
drawers and dressing table. A dormer window looks out on to
the front of the property, with the views of the landscaped
gardens.
The décor, as with the whole of the
property, is natural light and colour, creating a calming
and tranquil environment.
CAR PARKING To the front
of Silk Cottage is a parking area.
No children except non crawling babies.
