Blockley is a delightful village situated amongst the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds, between Chipping Campden and Moreton in Marsh in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The new Blockley Shop and Cafe is now open, where hot food is also served, home-made cakes, croisants for an early breakfast and a shop which stocks just about everything including newspapers and magazines. The shop and cafe opens

The Great Western Arms pub in the village serves meals or food can be purchased to take away.

The Crown Hotel serves food in the bar and restaurant.

Enter through the oak front door into the long hallway with slate floor and rugs.

SITTING ROOM

This is a light room with windows at both ends. Exposed beams, oak flooring with rug.  In the brick fireplace with old wooden lintel is a woodburning stove style electric fire.  Two, comfortable two seater sofas and two armchairs. The Sony television with HD and Sky Plus is tucked away in an attractive walnut cabinet.  Sport and movies on Sky are not part of the package but if you wish either of them to be available during your stay please let us know and we can get a price for this facility.   Video.  DVD.  Arcam radio with CD player and two freestanding Mission speakers.

On the opposite side of the hallway is the

KITCHEN / DINING ROOM

Open plan kitchen with dining area.  Windows at both ends of the room.  The kitchen floor is slate but the dining area is carpeted.  Lovely, newly fitted kitchen with oak worktops and breakfast bar.  Range cooker with five gas hobs (one with gridle plate) and two electric ovens, grill and warming drawer for plates and dishes.  Large cooker hood with extractor.  Miele dishwasher, microwave, toaster, cafetiere. 

You can either sit on the stool at the breakfast bar or at the oval, pine dining table in the dining area.  There are chairs for six people.  On one side is a pine dresser and on the other, a bookcase with plenty of books to read including ones with items of interest on the Cotswolds.

Large bedroom with vaulted ceiling and beams.  5’ wide bed, two wardrobes, dressing table, chest of drawers, bedside cupboards with lamps.  Freestanding long mirror, trouser press, bookcase, two wicker chairs.  Television (channels 1-4 only). There is also a chest full of toys.  Hairdryer.

A door leads into the en suite Shower Room with large walk in shower, wc and wash basin.  Heated towel rail.  Attractively tiled floor and walls.

BEDROOM TWO

Good sized room with 5’ wide double bed.  Two bedside cupboards with lamps, chest of drawers and wardrobe. 

BEDROOM THREE

Twin beds (3’ wide), two bedside tables with lamps.  Chest of drawers and built in wardrobe.

FAMILY BATHROOM

Modern style, fully co-ordinated bathroom with floor and wall tiles.  Bath with shower over bath.  The bath has a shower screen.  WC and wash basin.

GARDEN

Attractive garden enclosed by high Cotswold stone wall.  Laid to grass and flower beds with good size patio area.  Wooden circular table and chairs with sun umbrella.  Sit beside the large pond and watch the fish swimming around.  A special child safety  “Pond Safe” grid has been fitted to ensure the pond is safe, even for small children.  A lovely peaceful garden, with views of the rolling cotswold hills in the distance.

A dog is permitted by prior arrangement only, provided that it is kept downstairs, not allowed on furniture and never left alone in the house.  There is a large kennel in the garden which you are welcome to use.  A maximum of two dogs are allowed and there will be a damage deposit of £100 per dog.

There is a travel cot available.  Also, as a high chair there is a "Compact folding booster seat" which attaches to a dining chair which is suitable for ages 6 months to 4 years of age, up to a maximum weight of 22.7kg.  There is also one stairgate available.
