Access Statement For Sundial Wing, Darlingscott
Introduction
Sundial Wing is part of a 17th Century former stone built farmhouse. It is rented out as a holiday home through Campden Cottages. The accommodation provides kitchen, sitting/dining room, 2 bedrooms and one bathroom, which includes an electric shower over the bath. The cottage is fully carpeted except in the kitchen which is tiled and in the bathroom which has sealed wood flooring

Pre-Arrival
All enquiries / bookings are handled by Campden Cottages. They have an extensive web site which includes much useful local information as well as a page for Sundial Wing showing photos and a full description.
Bookings / enquiries can be made via email, fax or phone
- Once the final payment is made, directions are sent to you which include the postcode
- The Stagecoach no 50 bus runs from Chipping Norton to Stratford on Avon, the 50A bus runs from Banbury to Stratford on Avon both via Shipston on Stour which is two miles distant from Darlingscott. Stagecoach contact number is 01788 53 55 55 or e-mail warks.disabilityhelpdesk@stagecoachbus.com.
- The nearest railway station is Moreton in Marsh which is approximately 6 miles away. It is on the main line from London Paddington to Worcester. There is a bridge ramp for wheelchair access.
- Taxis are not always waiting at the station and you are advised to book a taxi in advance.
- We can provide information in large print on request
- David and Jean Mizen, the owners of Sundial Wing, live on the premises and are generally available to give any assistance should it be needed
Arrival time: 4.00pm onwards
- The cottage is suitable for babies in arms and supervised children.
- We regret no dogs are allowed Sundial Wing.
- In the town of Shipston on Stour, two miles away, there are two supermarkets, several specialist food shops, post office, opticians, doctors surgery, pharmacy, tea rooms, and several public houses.
- Approximate distances from Darlingscott:
Moreton in Marsh 6 miles, Chipping Campden 5 miles Stratford upon Avon 10 miles Banbury 15 miles Directions and instructions for collection of the keys from the owners are sent to you as soon as the final payment has been made Parking for four cars is in our own car park in front of the cottage. This area is gravelled. A gravelled path leads down to the front door. There are three steps down and a further step near the front door. 104cm wide outside doormat
Main Entrance
- 89cm wide front door leads down a 7cm deep step from the front pathway into lobby. There is a stone slab directly in front of the door. Wooden threshold bar 4cm. Door hinged on the left. 80cm wide inside door mat.
- Door lock 92cm from ground.
- Light switches are to the right of lobby at 139cm height
Sitting Room with Dining Area
- Size of room, L-shaped with longest dimensions 6m x 4.8m.
- Door to sitting room 83cm wide. Light switch to right of door 133cm high.
- One 9cm step down from the lobby to the sitting room.
- Fitted carpet throughout with large rug
- Sitting area contains
- 3-seater sofa 46cm height to top of seat
- Rocking chair with arms 38cm height to top of seat.
- Dining area contains table and four chairs. Table height 74 cm. Dining chairs 46cm high
- Another light switch is at bottom of stairs at 131cm height for upstairs lights. There are six wall lights and additional lamps
- Smoke alarm on ceiling near bottom of stairs

Stairs lead from the sitting room to the first floor landing
- Staircase comprises firstly7 straight steps each 86cm wide, 17cm high and tread depth 25cm, with handrail to left hand side 80cm from stair. 5 stairs then turn through 90 degrees, each 17cm high tread depth at centre point 20cm and narrowing to right,with 95cm high handrail to left.
