ACCESS STATEMENT

FOR ROSEMARY COTTAGE, BLOCKLEY

 

INTRODUCTION

Rosemary cottage is a Cotswold stone built early 19th century 2 bedroom cottage 30yds down a quiet narrow lane leading down to Snugborough Mill (disused) and the glorious Gloucestershire countryside beyond.

PRE-ARRIVAL

All enquiries / bookings are handled by Campden Cottages.  They have an extensive web site which includes much useful local information as well as a page for Rosemary Cottage showing photos and a full description.

  • Bookings / enquiries can be made via email, fax or phone
  • Once the final payment is made, directions are sent to you which include the postcode
  • The no 21/22 bus runs from Moreton in Marsh to Stratford on Avon via Blockley, Chipping Campden, Broadway and the bus stop is at the end of the road, approximately 500 yards away.  There is a link to the timetable under Local Information / Transport on the Campden Cottages web page. There are no buses on Sundays or Bank Holidays
  • The nearest railway station is Moreton in Marsh which is approximately 4 miles away. It is on the main line from London Paddington to Worcester.  There is a bridge ramp for wheelchair access. 
  • Taxis are not always waiting at the station and you are advised to book a taxi in advance.
  • We can provide information in large print on request
  • The nearest Radar toilets are in Moreton in Marsh

ARRIVAL AND CAR PARKING FACILITIES

Due to the narrow lane which has no turning facilities, there is no parking outside the cottage.  However, it is acceptable to drive to the front gate to load and unload your car.

Parking is on Station Road . The lane inclines fairly steeply from Station Rd down Snugborough Lane to the cottage (30yds).

MAIN ENTRANCE

The front gate has a 18cm high step leading on to a slabbed pathway 10metres long, and then right, up a further step 19cm high. The front door is 91cm x 182cm (hinged to the left). There is an outside light which is lit automatically from dawn to dusk. As you enter the front door which takes you into the kitchen there is a light switch on the right side 139cm high.

 

KITCHEN/BREAKFAST ROOM (4.9M X 3.3M)

The kitchen has a quarry tiled floor. There is a door on the right as you enter which leads into the sitting room. Directly past this door is a Settle with a 50cm high seat and an antique pine dresser which has two drawers 87cm high with a shelf directly above and glass fronted cupboards 150cm high. At the end of the room is a round dining table and four chairs.  The table is 105cm wide and 75cm high. On the left as you enter the front door is a work surface that runs around the left hand side of the kitchen, it is 90cm high. The work surface has a Washer/Dryer, a cooker and a fridge beneath it as well as various cupboards, The height of the oven door is 75cm and the fridge door 87cm. In a cupboard under the stairs there is a small Freezer. At the end of the left hand side of the kitchen units is a door leading directly to

which runs upstairs to the right. The bottom 6 steps are narrow on the right side narrowing from 30cm to 2cm.

The remaining Steps 7-10 are 30cm x 90cm.

 

LAUNDRY FACILITIES

There is a front loading Washer/Dryer in the kitchen 86cm x 60cm.

SITTING ROOM ( 5.0M x 3.3M)

The door from the kitchen to the sitting room is 81cm x 196cm (hinged to the left) .The carpet is short pile with a rug in front of the fireplace.  Coal effect gas fire. The room has a 3 seater settee and one armchair. There are two side tables, one of which has a chair and a table lamp, an occasional table is next to the TV. The TV has a remote control and there is a CD/DVD player. A selection of CDs and DVDs are provided in the top drawer of the TV cabinet. On the left hand side of the fireplace is a portable coffee table.


BEDROOM ONE (3.9M x 3.3M)

At the top of the stairs there is a small landing 87cm x 167cm.  On the right is a door (hinged to the right) 83cm x 195cm which leads to the first bedroom .The carpet is short pile with a rug .There is a 5ft wide brass bed. The space to the right of the bed is 90cm .The left hand side access is 30cm increasing to 70cm. There is a fitted cupboard with handles 95cm high. A dressing table with a chair and a mirror above. To the left hand side of the bed is a bedside table with a lamp. A further mirror is fitted on the wall as you enter, as is the light switch. A second door on the left as you enter leads to a En Suite bathroom.

ENSUITE BATHROOM (2.2M X 1.8M)

The bathroom door is 68cm x 197cm (hinged to the left). The toilet seat is 44cm high and the space to the left of the toilet is 58cm and 15cm to the left.

The sink height is 78cm, and the bath size is 53cm x 166cm x 70cm.The bathroom has a towel rail above the bath and the floor is wood.

BEDROOM TWO (3.4M X 3.1M)

The door 80cm x188cm (hinged to the right) is along the landing.  It has a 5ft wide brass bed and a short pile carpet. The space to the right of the bed is 40cm and the space to the left is minimum 40cm maximum 90cm.There is a 3 drawer bedside table on the left hand side of the bed with a lamp and a 3 drawer cupboard by the side of the Antique pine wardrobe. A pine shelf with a table lamp is fitted to the wall on the right hand side of the bed. A second door leads to the Shower room.

ENSUITE SHOWER ROOM (1.7m x 1.4M)

The door is 75cm x 195cm.There is a small sink on the right 38cm x 40cm which is 83cm high, above it is a bathroom cabinet 135cm high. The shower cabinet is 72cm x 72cm and has a step 27cm high. The toilet seat is 40cm high, and the space to the right of the toilet is 10cm and 18cm to the left


OUTSIDE FACILITIES

 The front garden has a small lawned area surrounded by planted borders. There is a pebbled patio area with a garden table and chairs, reached via the lawn. Directly outside the front door on the left is a garden bench.
